
The Checotah Art Guild on Broadway is a gathering of dedicated artists from the McIntosh County area which meets regularly at the Heartland Heritage Museum & Gallery, 116 N. Broadway in Checotah, OK. They hold their monthly business meeting on the 1st Tuesday of each month at noon. They also have Open Art sessions Tuesdays & Thursdays from 1:00 to 3:00 PM for fellowship and working on their individual art projects. These include painting, drawing, fiber art, knitting, embroidering, and any other artful genre.
The guild hosts various events throughout the year including a Holiday Art Show with cash prizes and ribbons, judged by various qualified art judges. In the Spring they host an "Art in the Park" at Veterans Park next door to the Gallery. Other events are hosted by this group throughout the year.
Open Art
Tuesdays & Thursdays are Open Art days when Guild members gather to enjoy fellowship as well as welcome visitors to come and enjoy art.
Beginners can learn new techniques from painting to needlework.

Artifact Identification Day
In partnership with the Heritage Museum, the Art Guild hosts an archeologist from Oklahoma Anthropological Society to help participants identify found artifacts. Come and bring your artifacts.

Art Show in November
Come showcase your artwork at the annual Art Show. The public, both artists and artisans are invited to bring their works for an exciting evening.

Artist of the Month Award
Each month a different artist is featured in the window of the Museum and Gallery. The individual selects his or her artwork for the window and places it for the month. This gives the artist an opportunity to showcase the work and the public who passes by can view beautiful art.

Bark in the Park
Bark in the Park has been an annual event. People would bring their dogs for fun & prizes.

Angel Tree
The Art Guild partners with the Heritage Museum to bring Christmas gifts and cheer to our local Nursing Home.
